Is the Art Work still for sale while it is in my possession?
Yes, the Art Work is always for sale. As a Rental Client, your location is, in effect, a gallery for the rented Art Work. When a Collector becomes interested in buying the Art Work from your location, you will have the first option to purchase the Art Work. If you choose not to purchase, the Art Work will be sold to the collector and you, as a gallery, will recieve a percentage of TAL's commission.
What if the Art Work is sold during my contracted rental term?
When the Art Work is sold to a Collector, the Rental Client will choose a similarly priced Art Work from the TAL inventory as a replacement. This replacement will be delivered to your location at the earliest delivery date at TAL's expense.
The Rental Client will direct the Collector to contact TAL to make arrangements for the purchase, packaging and delivery.
If I choose to purchase the Art Work, does the rent that I have paid count towards the buying price?
Yes, if you buy within 2 weeks, the rental fees you have paid will be put toward the purchase price.
If you purchase the Art Work as a First Option To Purchase, you will receive a percentage of TAL's commssion from the sale.
How can I be sure the Art Work is right for the space?
A TAL consultant will work with you to ensure that you are satisfied with your choice prior to delivery. You can send us a photo of your space and we will photoshop your top 3 choices into position as an approximation of how it will look.
How can I pay for my rental?
When the Art Work is delivered by TAL, we will use a portable merchant terminal to process the first month of your rental charges, plus any delivery/ hanging charges, and the TAL Rental Coverage. At delivery, TAL requires a manual credit card imprint of the replacement amount of the Art Work. This credit card imprint is your security deposit and will be processed if the Art Work is not returned at the end of the term as per the Condition Report.
What is a Condition Report?
This is a detailed checklist of the condition of the Art Work at the beginning of the rental term, and at the end of the rental term. It will be completed and signed by TAL and the Rental Client in agreement of the condition in which the Art Work must remain.
When will the Art Work be delivered?
Delivery is free within our specified limits and specifed days:
Monday: Dunsborough and Yallingup areas
Tuesday: Busselton areas
Wednesday: Margaret River areas
Thursday: Bunbury areas
Weekend deliveries, and deliveries via courier, can be arranged at the Rental Client's expense as required.
Do I need to be home for delivery?
Yes. TAL can only deliver to the person whose name is on the application to accept and sign for the delivery and to complete the Condition Report, and to give the credit card imprint as a security deposit.
Are there installation charges?
TAL can arrange to have the Art Work professionally hung upon delivery, using your choice of hanging system, at an hourly rate.
Do I need insurance?
Prior to delivery, TAL requires a copy of your household/ business Certificate of Currency to prove that your contents insurance will cover rented items entrusted to your care. TAL will help you with this process (if requested) to ensure proper protection for the rental.
As well, TAL Rental Coverage is charged on all rentals to cover incidental damage that may occur.
What happens if the Art Work is damaged while in my possession?
If the Art Work suffers a total loss and is deemed to be non-repairable by TAL, the credit card imprint of the Rental Client will be processed for the replacement cost of the Art Work as defined in the Rental Contract. The Rental Client is responsible for contacting their insurance company to make a contents claim to be reimbursed for the replacement cost.
If the Art Work is damaged but is deemed to be repairable by TAL, the TAL Rental Coverage will be put into effect to repair the artwork. The rent will continue to be charged until the agreed term is expired.
What are the charges that I can expect when renting an artwork?
Weekly rental + Installation (if necessary) + TAL Rental Coverage + Manual Imprint of Crdit Card for the Replacement Cost (processed only if Art Work suffers total loss)
